This past June I learned that there were a certain group of models who were passing around information about a cotton ball diet. What they do is soak cotton balls in juice, and then swallow them to feel full.
This week I learned that this fad diet had spread to women of all ages and walks of life. If you are currently on this diet, or thinking about it–don’t do it. Not only are you missing out on important vitamins and minerals, you are stretching out your intestine, which can spell big trouble. And by trouble, I am talking about rupturing a wall inside the intestine.
Think of it this way. Every five years experts say the body completely replaces every single cell that you are made up of (organs, skin, hair, etc.). This means that if you are beautiful today, eating poorly may not effect you right off the bat. However, after several years of replacing your cells with poorer quality ones, starved for nutrients, I can guarantee you will lose some of that beauty.
Don’t put your health and natural beauty at risk. Eat popcorn, carrots, celery… There are a lot of low calorie options to keep yourself full in between meals, that also provide healthy vitamins and minerals to keep your hair and skin elastic, soft, and vibrant. Please take care of yourself, because you are the only one who can.
